Global Game Jam 2016 Postmortem
Tucson’s first Global Game Jam is now in the books! We’d like to thank everyone who showed up. It was a phenomenal time, and we had a great group with all skill levels. We had 4 groups making 4 separate games. You can see (and play!) the games up on the global game jam’s website here.
This year’s theme was ‘Ritual!’
Vikings Vs. Goats
A fun game with a smash brothers vibe, developed in Unity.
Sword of Memory
Made in Stencyl, this team brought together some great art and built a top-down game about a sword that slowly made you lose your memory.
Tap Battle
A 2-player, pass and play rhythm based game, like a rap battle, but with tapping! This game was built in html and javascript, and you can play it here!
Beasts of the Underworld
A great looking game where you gather souls and raise zombies from the graveyard to attack a town. Currently not on the jam site but a beautiful looking game made by a solo developer!
A Special Shout Out To Ron
Ron was our ‘floating artist’ who provided a large number of conceptual sketches and artwork for two of the teams.
What’s next?
Next up is our next monthly meeting, which we’ll post shortly on our Meetup site. Stay Tuned!
