1 Week Out: Jam Prep
We are in full gear getting ready to make this a great Global Game Jam. Here is some additional information for attendees. And registration is still open for last-minute registration!
Jam Kick-Off
Friday night at 5:00pm is when you’ll need to sign in, and be ready to learn about this year’s theme. There will be a video presentation, and then we will be forming groups and getting started. This is the only crucial meeting of the jam. After the kick-off you’ll be let loose to work some magic.
Schedule and Updates
The schedule will be kept up to date here.
Jam Preparation
What should you do before showing up to the event? Please try to download and install your software before arriving, so the internet isn’t hammered by 20 simultaneous Unity downloads. You may want to spend some time leveling up on the software you plan on using. If you plan on doing a physics game, it can be good to level up your collider and constraints knowledge. Or don’t prep and just wing it, it’s up to you!
Foooooood!
Thanks to our sponsor Simpleview ( http://www.simpleviewinc.com ) we will be providing food and drink on Friday and Saturday. Depending on funds we may also have chow on Sunday. We’ll let you know. Soda and coffee will be available during the entire event.
Security and Equipment
Since making games involve computers and other expensive equipment we take security quite seriously. The premises will be open for the entire 48 hour jam, but the doors may be locked most of the time and definitely at night. You will be able to enter and leave the building by calling the jam organizer. The contact information will be given out at the event.
We will provide a space where you can leave your equipment set up for the course of the jam. We unfortunately cannot be liable if your equipment walks off. If you are concerned about the safety of your equipment please try to stay with it at all times.
No Alcohol
This event is a non-alcoholic event. You may, of course, leave and have a jam beer at one of the many fine downtown Tucson establishments.
Underage Attendees
If you are attending with underage jammers please do not leave them unattended for any reason.
