TGD Updates: Next Meeting, Workshop, and Game Jam!
We have THREE upcoming events here in January! :O If your new years resolution is to make that game you’ve always wanted, or to learn something new, TGD is the place to be. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!
TGD Monthly Meeting: January 3rd, 7pm!
TGD has a new meeting location!
We are graciously being given space by Tucson Games & Gadgets in their Gaming Dungeon! Please note this is in the Tucson Mall location.
This month we have a guest speaker: Diego Ross! Diego is a vehicle and weapons artist and modeller at Ryzin Studio. He has worked on Black Ops 4 and Rage 2, and will be demo-ing his workflow on making high quality game-ready models. Lord is here temporarily in Tucson, don’t miss out on this chance to learn from a AAA game artist!
Beginner Game Dev Workshop: January 12th, 1:30pm!
In preparation of Global Game Jam we are holding a game development workshop at the Joel Valdez Library downtown. This event is for beginners who want to learn the basics of how to make a video game. We’ll walk you through the steps necessary and by the end of the session you’ll have made your very own game! Attendees will need to bring their own computer with Mac or Windows. We will install and set up everything you need at the workshop. Minors are welcome if they are attended and supervised at all times by their parent or guardian. If you have questions please join our friendly neighborhood Discord server.
Global Game Jam 2019: January 25th-27th!
This year, we are proud to yet again host Global Game Jam here in Tucson! We are also very pleased to partner with the University of Arizona’s Game Dev group who are providing space in the Gould-Simpson building this year! What’s a game jam, you might ask? Watch this video to find out:
Global Game Jam is always a blast, and every year the event has become bigger and better! Please RSVP as space is limited! Please note that GGJ’s policies have changed and no minors are allowed at the event.
