Next meeting: Dec. 6
Our last monthly meeting of 2018 is this Thursday, Dec. 6, at 7pm. You won’t want to miss it! The agenda includes:
- VR roundtable! Sean Souva of Virtual Odysseys will join us in a VR chat app for a discussion about the current state and future of VR. We’ll also have Blake Parsons, a game artist from Dire Wolf Digital, joining the virtual chat along with several of our regular members. Bring your own VR headset if you like, or take part in the discussion via 2D with the rest of us!
- Global Game Jam! The UA Game Dev group has graciously offered to share their space atop the Gould-Simpson building as Tucson’s 2019 Global Game Jam site in January. We’ve also secured a meeting room in the Joel D. Valdez Main Library on the afternoon of Saturday, Jan. 12 in order to run a 3-hour “Game Jam 101” community workshop before the big jam. We need to start planning for both of these events this week!
- TGD show and tell! As always, we’ll spend some time admiring TGD members’ projects and portfolios. Since everyone interested in game dev is a member, that means you! If you have something you’d like to share, please let me know in advance so we can make sure everyone gets some time on the screen without running too late. We can also use some of this time to revisit the TCC kiosk and games we showcased, if anyone missed out on last month’s meeting.
This will be a terrific meeting to end a great year, so be there! Directions will be emailed to the TGD list soon, or you can hop onto our Discord and check the pinned messages on the monthly-meetings channel to find them as well.
