January 5th: Q&A with Z from Serenity Forge!

Z, CEO of Serenity Forge
Zhenghua Yang aka ‘Z’, the CEO of Serenity Forge will be joining us virtually to chat about his company. Z has publishes and develops unique and amazing titles such as the horror title Doki Doki Literature Club. We’ll talk about his company’s unique approach to game development.

Covid note: Pima County is still regarded by the CDC as having the highest level of covid transmission on their Community Transmission Levels scale. With holiday travel and as the US continues its uninterrupted worldwide lead in covid case count, we’ve decided proof of vaccination is required for this meeting in addition to masks while not eating. If you’ve been vaccinated against covid, please bring and show your card before entering the building. If that’s not an option for you, then you’re very welcome to join us online via Discord.
January 21st-30th: Global Game Jam 2022
We took a year off but Global Game Jam is BACK. We have partnered with FORGE to provide in-person space AND we’re adding a virtual option this year! For more information and to register check out our GGJ page.
January 14th- 23rd: WASM-4 Jam
In addition to hosting the Global Game Jam, I wanted to give a quick plug for a non-TGD event, the WASM-4 jam from Context Free and the WASM-4 project. Create a game for this fantasy console in the language of your choice! I’m currently using this as an opportunity to learn Rust which has been an fascinating and enlightening experience.
