Latest meeting, some changes, and Ludum Dare!
This meeting was rather eventful but I think the weather might have made attendance lower than usual. Because it was a smaller group we had a chance to chat about things and we did an informal physics-based coding session, making some boostpads but I think it works better as a bounce pad:
Big Thanks To Lance
So I mentioned some changes: First off our fearless leader Lance Tipton has been very busy lately and so he has decided to hand over the reigns to Chris Hill (me). I’d like to thank Lance for starting this group and keeping it going for the past year. He has been very active in making things happen and I will try to fill his shoes as much as I can. Lance isn’t going anywhere tho! Expect him to be at meetings!
Thanks Lance!
Speaking of Meetings
Our next meeting we will be talking about shaders. Shaders make things look good, as you can see in this Making Things Look Good in Unity video:

Ludum Dare 36
August will be the next Ludum Dare game jam is coming up! The game jam, named after the community of the same name, is one of the biggest game jams around, and usually attracts some serious competition. If you will be participating let us know!
Meetup.com Changes
Did you know that meetup.com costs money? It costs about $200 a year to subscribe if you have over 50 members? Because of this we will be removing unknown people from the meetup.com setup in the hopes of going to the free version. If this isn’t enough to get us to the basic plan, chances are we will simply discontinue use and use this website instead. This is still up in the air. If someone wants to donate for the cause, let me know as well.
Next meeting: Coffee Talk
And our next meeting is our casual coffee meetup. Hope to see you there:
