Upcoming Events: Tucson Comic-Con and Sausage Sports Club!
But first…a Ludum Dare juiced competition update!
Our first ever Ludum Dare competition had three fine entries: WPM Warrior, Building Keys, and Button Runner. We ended up having a 3-way TIE! So we decided instead that the final deciding vote will be decided by: the public! Yes, each contestant will get even more time to polish their entries for the Tucson Comic-Con. Players will get an opportunity to play then rate the game afterwards, and the highest rated game wins! The winner will receive cash prizes and one of these sweet trophies!
Join us at the Tucson Comic-Con this weekend!
Coming up this weekend is one of my favorite events of the year: the Tucson Comic-Con! We will have a number of games available to play, and an art gallery showing off some of the great work that developers here in town are working on.
Its also not too late to submit your game! Join us on Discord and you can have your game played by the public. They have the opportunity to rate your game, and give feedback as well. Truly one of the best places to get real testing of your game by real players! We are also looking for volunteers to man the booth if you have some spare time.
November 7th: Sausage Sports Club with Chris Wade
We also have the talented Chris Wade speaking with us virtually. Chris is the developer of Sausage Sports Club, and currently works as a developer for Owlchemy Labs. He’ll be giving us a peek behind the curtain of how SSC was made.
Our monthly meetings are held at Tucson Games & Gadgets in the Tucson Mall. The meeting is at 7pm *sharp* on November 7th. Our meetings are always the first Thursday of the month.
Farther into the Future
We have more events lined up as well. In December Matt ‘Mattendo’ Martin will be coming down from Phoenix to showcase his game Boss Battle. We’ll playtest it and give some feedback. We will also be co-hosting the Global Game Jam again with the U of A in January. Hope to see you at one of our events in the future!
